The Joint Distribution Committee today appealed to the Czechoslovak Government to permit 15 Burgenland (Austria) Jewish refugees to enter the country, promising they would not become public charges during their limited stay. The refugees, who had been cast adrift by the Nazis on a breakwater in the Danube, are aboard the French tugboat Sena. The J.D.C. declared they would be provided for by Jewish organizations in Czechoslovakia, which would take steps to get them into another country.
