Pope Watches Anti-jewish Persecution

Vatican circles stated today that Pope Pius XI is closely watching anti-Jewish persecution in certain parts of Europe and is making serious efforts to influence Catholic Churches in several countries, particularly Poland, to combat anti-Semitism there. The Pope was also represented as viewing with anxiety present events in Palestine and as deeply interested in finding a way to achieve Arab-Jewish peace.
