Isaac Meier Weissenberg, Yiddish novelist, critic and pamphleteer, died here yesterday at the age of 58. The author of many novels on small-town life a Poland, his works were translated into German, French, Spanish and Hebrew and had a large following among Yiddish-speaking people throughout the world. His best known novel was “The Town” and his most recently published volume was “In Grey Eternity.” He also translated “A Thousand and One Nights” into Yiddish. He visited the United States in 1923.
