The Daily Telegraph reports from Rome today that Premier Benito Mussolini’s projected visit to Trieste next month has prompted many leading Jews in that Adriatic seaport to follow the example set by the resignation last week of Jewish Mayor Paolo Enrico Salem. Among Jews reported resigning posts are directors of the General Insurance Company, the Trieste Adriatic Union of Security and other important Trieste industries.

According to the Telegraph, the Yugoslav Government is taking steps to pre vent immigration of Trieste Jews, many of whom have been making inquiries on the possibility of settling in the Balkans.
