A cable was sent to Queen Elizabeth by Jewish mothers of Tiberias today asking for royal encouragement and support against “murderers desecrating God’s name by killing and burning babies.” The reference was to Sunday night’s Arab raid in which 21 Jews, including 11 children, were killed.

Two Jewish youths and two British soldiers were wounded in continuing disorders this morning. Eliahu Mishali, 18, was shot while walking near the jaffa gate here. abraham Kabaloff, 24, a student at the Hebrew technicum, was shot in haifa. The soldiers were stabbed while guarding the lydda station.

Arab railway workers in Haifa failed to report to their jobs today. Their places were taken by jews and britons.

It was learned that Major-General Robert H. Haining, General Officer Commanding British forces in Palestine, has commuted the death sentence imposed by the Jerusalem Military Court last Monday on Abraham Kotik, 25-year-old Zionist-Revisionist, for carrying arms in violation of emergency regulations.
