The rebellion in Palestine will halt if Britain promises to satisfy Arab demands, the Beirut Bourse was informed today by Fares Bey Khoury, Speaker of the Syrian House of Deputies, who was vice-president of the recent Pan-Arab Congress at Cairo. “The difficulty is that the Arabs do not wish to disarm until they are satisfied,” Khoury declared. “English prestige does not admit of a solution under Arab pressure, but if Britain promises solemnly, then the Arab rebellion will stop.”
