New “declaration of Independence” Hits Race Prejudice

Holding that the spread of totalitarian doctrines demands a reassertion of free democratic principles, the National Student Federation of the United States made public today — on Benjamin Franklin’s birthday — “A Redeclaration of American Faith,” modeled on the Declaration of Independence and signed by 63 leading citizens of the country The declaration condemns race prejudice and those who “have spread calumniations against other groups of our citizens, seeking to stir up superstitious fears and incite persecution.”
