The Jewish Refugee Committee today issued an appeal to Polish Jews to adopt refugee children on the ground that hopes for complete solution of the children s problem by the Earl Baldwin Fund had not been fulfilled. Only 175 children have been admitted to England with a prospect that 50 more will be admitted it was stated while a total of 3,000 remain in Poland.
Meanwhile, the Rumanian and Yugoslavian consulates here have stopped issuing transit visas to Jews wishing to cross the respective countries. Jewish patients wishing to take cures in Bulgarian health resorts are granted transit visas only on deposit of large cash guarantees against their remaining in Rumania or Yugoslavia.
