The Russo-German non-aggression and consultation pact plunged “a knife in the back of the whole Jewish people, whose fate is tied up with the fate of all freedom-loving people,” the Jewish Labor Committee declared today in a statement signed by its chairman, Adolph Held, J. Baskin, secretary, and J. Minkoff, executive secretary.

Voicing the “embitterment and indignation of the Jewish people against the pact,” the statement said that despite the “unexpected blow,” the fight against Hitlerism, Fascism, dictatorship and anti-Semitism would be intensified until these manifestations were removed from the face of the earth “and justice and humanity reigns.”
