3,000 Vienna Jews ‘volunteer’ for War Work After Threat by Buerckel

The Daily Herald reported from Vienna today that 3,000 Jews had responded to Gauleiter Josef Buerckel’s appeal for “volunteers” for war work following the Nazi leader’s declaration that he couldn’t accept responsibility for the welfare of the Jews if the response was not immediate.
