Commenting on the London report that the British Government intends to proceed with implementation of the Palestine White Paper, Dr. Solomon Goldman, president of the Zionist Organization of America, stated to the J.T.A. today:

“I deem it unbelievable that His Majesty’s Government, now engaged in the great struggle for justice and humanity, would contemplate restriction of immigration to Palestine or the curtailment of land sales, thus adding to the indescribable misery of the victims of Nazi barbarism.

“Palestine is a door of hope, healing and restoration for tens of thousands of our people. Shut that door and the cruelty and violence perpetrated by the Nazis fade into in significance alongside the defeat and frustration that would ensue. American Jewry was hopeful that in this critical hour His Majesty’s Government would not permit the implement ation of new measures that would tend only further to intensify conflict in Palestine, added to the burdens of world Jewry.”
