Dominican Minister Andres Pastoriza said today that nearly 3,000 Spanish refugees had been “dumped” into the Dominican Republic within the last month, but declared their arrival would not interfere with plans steadily going forward to settle 500 German refugee families now in neutral European countries and an additional 300 young men and women under the aegis of the Intergovernmental Refugee Committee.
Representative Sol Bloom of New York said he was confident that the Dominican Republic would fulfill all its commitments in caring for the German refugees selected by the Intergovernmental Committee.
