Obligatory examinations for Jewish doctors, pharmacists and their apprentices in the territories of Upper Hungary and Carpatho-Russia have been ordered by the Hungarian Government.
The examinations, it was stated, are intended to establish whether the Jewish professionals are to be permitted to continue their practice from the point of view of the State’s interests and that of “professional honor.” The territories where the examinations are to be enforced became part of Hungary after the Munich pact in 1938.
