The recent typhus epidemic in Warsaw resulting from damage to houses and sanitary systems inflicted during the German bombardment of the city has been stamped out, it was learned here tonight. German authorities were said to have vaccinated more than 300,000 persons in bringing the disease under control.
Nevertheless, misery was still reported intense in the former Polish capital with at least 150,000 Polish citizens out of work and having no income of any kind. Destitution was said to be increasing as the winter advances.
