Ort Fund Drive Gets Under Way in France

The fund-raising campaign in France for the World ORT Union was opened with a reception at the home of Baron Pierre Guinzbourg.

Deputy Francois de Tessan, chairman of the ORT Parliamentary Committee, presided and stressed the French Government’s interest in the ORT’s activities directed towards preparing skilled labor for national defense and agriculture. Senator Justin Godart, Grand Rabbi Issaye Schwartz, Prof. William Oualid and Abraham Alperine were among other speakers. Prominent French Jews were present and pledged support of the campaign.
