General Juan Andrew Almazan, opposition candidate for President, in an interview with foreign correspondents today, repudiated anti-Semitic agitators who claim to support him and denounced anti-Semitism.

“Mexico has a tradition never to introduce any racial or religious discrimination, neither against the Jews nor any other race,” General Almazan said, “I believe that this policy of complete tolerance must be continued, in order to turn Mexico into a country where peace and fraternity will become the basis for the improvement of all social classes.”
