All male German refugees in Belgium have been ordered interned by the Belgian authorities, apparently as a precautionary measure against possible camouflaged Nazi agents among them, it was reported from Brussels today.

Feeding and maintenance of the refugees’ families have been taken over by the Belgian Red Cross, the reports said. Jewish relief committees in Brussels–and Amsterdam as well–which operated on funds furnished by the Joint Distribution Committee, were all liquidated on the first day of the German invasion, it was said.

The offices of the J.D.C. and of the HIAS-ICA Emigration Association in Brussels have also been closed, the reports said, and Jewish relief work has been included by the Belian Red Cross in the general relief set-up
