Britain has fought and won “many splendid wars” single handed, it was declared today by the commander-in-chief of the British armed forces in Palestine in a statement of encouragement broadcast to the country.
“The courage of British men and women is still strong and steadfast,” he said, “and Britain still possesses a tremendous weapon–seapower, which is still a shield for Palestine.”
