The Slovak Parliament has passed a bill empowering the Government to carry out “Aryanization” of Slovak economic and social life, the Bratislava wireless reported today.

Other measures make it possible for an “Aryan” whose property was purchased by a Jew at an auction to recover the property by payment of the auction price. The Government can acquire property under the same conditions.

The German official news agency reported that the Slovak Government had decreed that all Jews must submit an inventory of all their property before Sept. 16. Failure to comply will draw a five-year prison term and confiscation of the property, it was said.

A Nazi broadcast to Yugoslavia praised the Slovak efforts to solve the Jewish question and warned: “We trust the procedure of Slovakia will meet with understanding and imitation by other Eastern European countries.”
