Publication of a cheap edition of the spurious “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” by the well-known Chilean concern, Helffman, Horst and Company, has drawn the ire of the newspaper Civilization.
The newspaper protested the renewed distribution of this “greatest lie in history” and said the action was “an offense to the national culture and democratic spirit of Chile.”
A prologue to the edition says that whether the reader believes the statements are true or false, “there is no doubt they are of interest at this time in view of the sorrowful endorsement world events have given them.”
