Dr. Mark Sliosberg, son of Heinrich Sliosberg, a Jewish leader in pre-revolutionary Russia and one of the principal defenders of Mendel Beilis, died here on Nov. 4, in loneliness and poverty. He was 52.
Dr. Sliosberg came to Argentina from Paris five years ago. A graduate of the Universities of Saint Petersburg and Heidelberg, he was known as a linguist and as a person with deep knowledge of Russian, German, French and English literature. In Buenos Aires he tried to earn his livelihood from incidental translations and journalistic work.
