Isaac Ben Zvi, chairman of the Jewish National Council, today sent a congratulatory cable to Sir Archibald P. Wavell, Commander-in-Chief of British forces in the Near East, expressing the Council’s unwavering faith in an ultimate British victory.
Our faith in the ultimate victory of justice has never left us,” the cable said. “We emphatically reiterate the preparedness of the Jewish Community in Palestine to participate in all services to defend the Jewish homeland and the British Empire.
