A decision to raise the necessary funds for the purchase of one or two ambulances for presentation to the British, “as an expression of Cuban Jewry’ identity of purpose with Britain’s war effort and its complete confidence in victory” was adopted at a Jewish meeting here, addressed by Phineas Horowitz, vice-president of the English Zionist Federation. Mr. Horowitz is touring Central and South America in behalf of the World Jewish Congress and the Jewish National Fund. The meeting elected a committee to conduct the fund raising campaign. A Jewish reception to the British Ambassador in Cuba is being planned.
