Satisfactory progress in democratic sentiment in Central and South American countries as evidenced by a decrease in anti-Semitic propaganda and greasing Pan. American solidarity was reported yesterday by Dr. Nahum Goldmann, Chairman of the Administrative Committee of the World Jewish Congress, upon his return here from a seven weekly tour of central and South American countries.
Dr. Goldmann visited South American countries to secure help for the political work of the World Jewish Congress and at the same time to raise relief funds to be dispensed by the World Jewish Congress in European countries for victim of Nazi oppression.
In the course of his tour, he visited Mexican Guatemalans, Costs Rican, Panama, Trinidad, Argentine, Brazil, Uruguay and Chile, In all of these countries, he was received by important Government officials with whom he discussed the plight of Jewry. Dr. Goldmann reported an improvement in the Jewish situation in these countries, stating “that there is no sections Jewish problem.”
