Jews will live to see the day of liberation and just retribution, declared Hubert Ripka, Minister of Propaganda, speaking for the Czechoslovakian Government-in-Exile, in a broadcast to the Jews of Czechoslovakia, in connection with the order, which went into effect today, that Czech Jews must wear a yellow Mogen David on their outer garments when they appear in the streets.

Assuring the Jews that their sufferings will not be forgotten, Ripka added “the Germans today designate you publicly with a mark of shame, but the yellow Star of David is a sign of honor which all decent people will respect. Jewish friends, you will live to see the day of liberation and just retribution.”
