Only 469 of the more than 3,000 Jews who were formerly employed by the Algerian administration have been retained, it is reported in the Echo de Alger, reaching here today. The other employees have been dismissed as a result of Vichy’s introduction of the anti-Jewish laws in her North African possessions.
