Contingents of German Jewish refugees who had been interned in Australia and Polish Jewish refugees who had journeyed through India and Egypt arrived here today after tortuous journeys lasting several months in some cases.

The German refugees had been interned in Britain originally and were subsequently sent to Australia. En route there the ship on which they were travelling was twice attacked by submarines but succeeded in escaping, they revealed today. Through the efforts of the Jewish Agency, Palestine immigration certificates were secured for them and they were released from internment in Australia some time in February.
