A big trial of “Jewish hoarders and black market dealers” has opened at Helsinki, according to a Berlin radio report heard here today.

Analysts of Axis propaganda found this announcement significant as the first instance of anti-Semitic action reported from Finland. Finnish statements in this country have insisted that Finland has not succumbed to Nazi pressure for Jewish persecutions. Whether or not the report is true, it was pointed out here, Berlin is obviously trying to identify Finland more closely with the Axis “cause.”
