An average of 200 Jews are dying daily in the “Jewish” concentration camp which the Nazis have established in Majdanek, in Central Poland, according to information reaching the Polish Government here today.
The report says that Jews from all over Poland are being driven to the camp at Majdanek where they are held under the most primitive sanitary conditions, which has resulted in the spread of typhus.
At the session of the Polish National Council today, the two Jewish deputies. Dr. Ignacy Schwarzbart and Samuel Zygelbeim appealed for urgent and effective measure to save the Jews in occupied Poland from Nazi extermination. “Hitler will never succeed in annihilating 25,000,000 Poles, but he can exterminate all the Jews in Poland if nothing is done to check him, Dr. Schwarzbart said. He reported how Jews in the ghettos are forcibly resisting the Nazis. Mr, Zygelbeim asked for the appointment of a special committee with special powers to take unusual steps to save Polish Jews.
