Lehman Announces JDC Contribution of $25,000 for Relief in North Africa

Receipt of a $25,000 contribution from the Joint Distribution Committee for relief in North Africa was announced today by Herbert H. Lehman, Director of Foreign Relief and Rehabilitation Operations.

The money was turned over to the United States treasury by Paul Baerwald, honorary chairman of the J.D.C. With a similar gift from the American Friends Service Committee, Lehman said, the sum will be used for relief on the basis of need, without regard to race, nationality or political affiliation. The funds will be under the complete control of Mr. Lehman’s office, under the terms of their acceptance
