World Jewish Congress Sends Food-and-clothing Parcels to Russia

The World Jewish Congress today announced that American Jews can now send food and clothing packages to their refugee relatives and friends in Russia and that people who are uncertain of the addresses of their relatives in the U.S.S.R. can have them verified by the Congress through the Moscow Jewish Community offices.

“Parcels amounting to $200,000 can be sent to the Jewish refugees in the U.S.S.R. via Palestine, Iran, and India,” the announcement says. “There are now 2,000 clothing packages ready to be sent from Palestine, 2,100 from Teheran, 3,000 food-and-clothing parcels from India. The Jewish Agency sees to it that the food parcels sent from Palestine contain products of best quality and are dispatched with the greatest care and efficiency. The Jewish Agency has received confirmation that packages reach their destination in good condition and with a fair amount of speed.”
