Twenty Jews Arrested in Palestine for Blowing Shofar at the Wailing Wall

Approximately twenty Jews were arrested here for blowing the Shofar on Saturday evening at the Wailing wall following the conclusion of the Yom Kippur prayers there. The blowing of the Shofar at the Wailing wall is prohibited by the Palestine Administration,

Otherwise, the Yom Kippur services, attended by more than 15,000 worshippers, passed without incident at the Wailing Wall, Many of the worshippers were in military uniform.

A call to intellectuals throughout the democratic world to rally to the assistance of the Jews in Europe in order to make it possible for them to emigrate to Palestine was voiced here today in a resolution adopted at a conference of authors artists and scientists held under the auspices of the Jewish National Fund.
