C.i.o. Convention Urges U.S. to Save Jews in Europe; Condemns Anti-semitism

The sixth annual convention of the Congress of Industrial Organizations now in session here last night adopted a resolution urging the Government of the United States to rescue the persecuted Jews in Europe and to see to it that full immigration opportunities are granted by the United Nations to refugees.

The convention denounced anti-Jewish propaganda in the United States and urged all labor unions affiliated with the C.I.O. to combat it. It also voted to support the bill now before Congress which recommends the barring of anti-Jewish and other racial propaganda from the mails. Strong measures against all elements spreading racial and religious hatred were demanded by all speakers. The resolution branded anti-Semitism as “treason to America.”
