Irving Berlin, noted composer of popular songs, has been awarded the 1943 Medal for the Promotion of Better Understanding Between Christian and Jew in America given annually by the American Hebrew Magazine, in recognition of the year’s activity in the progress of inter-faith accord in America, Joseph H. Biben, editor and publisher of The American Hebrew, announced today. The name of Mr. Berlin was chosen from a list of candidates submitted to the American Hebrew’s Committee of Judges, composed of 65 eminent Americans of the three faiths.
