Director General Herbert H. Lehman of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration announced yesterday that the goal of 15,000,000 pounds set by the churches, parishes and synagogues in the Emergency Collection of Clothing for Liberated Europe will be exceeded. His estimate is based on preliminary reports received from all parts of the United States. Baling of the garments has been started and is proceeding rapidly. Some shipments are ready to be moved overseas. Each bale will be stenciled “contributed by religious groups of the United States.”
