Jewish Organizations Participate in Unrra Clothing Campaign Umder J.D.C. Leadership

All national Jewish organizations in the United States will, under the leadership of the Joint Distribution Committee, participate in the UNRRA campaign to raise 150,000,000 pounds of clothing, shoes and bedding for needy people in war-devastated countries, it was announced here today. The campaign will begin April 1 under the national chairmanship of Henry J. Kaiser.

The Joint Distribution Committee will be the claimant for clothing in be half of the destitute and needy Jews abroad where these needs are not met by UNRRA. Under J.O.C.’s leadership a number of national Jewish organization have organized to stimulate participation of their chapters, cooperating groups and members throughout the country. At a meeting of representatives of these Jewish organizations, Louis H. Sebel, assistant secretary of the J.O.C., was elected to the chairmanship of this special committee.
