Rabbi Bernard Drachman, former president of the Union of Orthodox Congregations of America and one of the leaders of the Mizrachi movement, died here last night at the age of 83. He was Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Zichron Ephraim.

Born in New York, Dr. Drachman was graduated from Columbia University and became a rabbi in 1885 after studying at the Jewish Theological Seminary of Breslau, Germany. At the same time, he received a Ph.D degree at Heidelberg University. He was the founder of the Jewish Sabbath Alliance of America, and its president for many years. He was also the author of a number of books on Jewish problems.
