A check for $100,000, marking the final installment of a total of $150,000 pledged by the New England Jewish National Fund for the establishment of a colony in Palestine named after Massachusetts, was presented to Mendel Fisher, executive director of the JNF.

The presentation was made at a meeting in the Parker House by Dr. Arthur I. Shain, president of the New England JNF. The colony, “Naclath Massachusetts,” will occupy 6,000 dunams in the south-eastern part of the Jezreel Valley. United States Senator Leverett Saltenstall was honorary chairman of the fund drive.
