Prior to his departure by plane this morning to attend the World Zionist Conference in London, Dr. Abba Hillel Silver, joint chairman of the American Zionist Emergency Council and chair man of its executive committee, issued a statement declaring that “it should be clear to all that the Jewish people inside and outside of Palestine is determined to fight for the Jewish state until it is achieved.”
“I am leaving for London in the hope that the first World Zonist Conference since the war may define the fixed course which our movement is to follow in order to cash quickly the goal of the Jewish State, ” Dr. Silver said, “If encouraging words reach us from the Berlin meeting of the Big. Three, then our conference will devote ourself to the practical questions of mass Jewish immigration into Palestine and the (##)ny correlated tasks. If not–then we shall have to plan for the maximum mobilize(##)on of all of our strength for a protracted struggle in defense of our inalienable fights in Palestine.”
The American Zionist Emergency Council will be represented by three delegates the London conference. The three are Dr. Silver, Dr. Stephen S. Wise, joint chairman of the Council, and Emanuel Neumenn, member of the executive committee, who has already arrived in England.
