Names of 50,000 Liberated Jews in Germany Received by World Jewish Congress

The Lists containing the names of 50,000 Jews now at the liberated camps in Germany have been received by the World Jewish Congress, it was announced here today by Chaim Finkelstein, head of the Congress’ division for locating displaced persons.

“A great many of the names are of persons released from Buchenwald, Bergen-Belsen and Dachau,” the announcement said. “Few of these are names of German Jews. Nearly all of the Jews registered are deportees from Poland, Hungary and various European countries which were dominated by the Nazis and their satellites.”
