Jewish Community of Palestine Unanimous in Condemnation of Bombing, Killings

Leading Jewish institutions throughout Palestine today continued to express the strongest condemnation of yesterday’s destruction of British military headquarters and the Palestine government’s offices in the King David Hotel here which was accompanied with great loss of life and injury to scores of Britons, Jews and Arabs.

Speaking for the rabbinate, Chief Rabbi Ben Zion Uziel expressed his complete abhorrence of the deed. The Histadruth, Palestine Labor Federation, also issued a strongly worded condemnation.

Meeting in an extraordinary session the Tel Aviv municipality issued a statement which expressed its abhorrence of the bombing and killings and declared that this “criminal attack stains and perverts the pure aim of establishing a national homeland” in Palestine.

The entire Hebrew press today appeared with editorials expressing horror and condemnation at this newest outbreak of terrorism.
