“Unreserved support” for the fulfillment of the $100,000,000 goal of the United Jewish Appeal drive was pledged here today by more than 300 delegates from three states attending an extraordinary conference of the U.J.A. at the Bellevue-Stratford Hotel.

Addressing the conference, James G. McDonald, former American member of the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry on Palestine, declared that the immediate transfer of 100,000 European displaced Jews to Palestine was a human problem which transcends “consideration of politics.” He warned that the displaced Jews “are on the verge of desperation,” adding that their utter hopelessness may at any time drive them to acts of violence.
