The Central Committee of Liberated Jews issued two statements today expressing support for President Truman’s announcement on Palestine and asking the world “to continue the work of justice” reflected in the Nuremberg decisions by granting the surviving Jews “the possibility to rebuild their lives in their own country.”

Concerning Truman’s statement, the committee hoped the U.S. “would be able to convince the British Government of the necessity for an immediate solution of the Jewish question in the next few weeks by starting mass immigration to Palestine.”
