The management of an Amsterdam theatre which was used as a transit center for Jewish deportees during the German occupation has been unable to reopen it because actors refuse to perform there.

In an attempt to cleanse the theatre of all Nazi taints, the street on which it is located has been renamed for a martyred member of the Dutch Underground.
