Dr. Joseph Schwartz, European director of the Joint Distribution Committee, arrived here today on a tour of inspection of J.D.C. activities in displaced persons’ camps near here, and the local Jewish community.
He first visited the Neu Freimann camp toured by Gen. Dwignt D. Eisenhower last week and then proceeded to the Rosenheim camp where 1,300 Jewish children live. Here he was informed that school supplies and warm clothing were still desperately short. Later Dr. Schwartz inspected the Schleissheim and Foehrenwald camps and discussed local problems with Jewish leaders, J.D.C. and UNRRA officials and displaced Jews.
