A sharp increase in inter-marriage between Jews and non-Jews in Canada is revealed in figures released by the Vital Statistics Dept. of the Dominion Bureau of Statistics. Among the mixed marriages there were some between Jewish men and Negro and Indian women.

The figures for 1942 show 2,674 births to parents where both father and mother were Jews and 213 births of mixed parentage–137 children were the offspring of a Jewish father and a Gentile mother and 76 children were born to Jewish mothers whose husbands were Gentiles.
