More than $5,774,000 was raised by the Hadassah during the past year, it was reported here today at the 32nd annual convention of the organization. The Hadassah membership rose 41,000 this year to a total of 200,000 the delegates were told.

Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency, in a message to the convention, said: “The future of the Jewish people, I am more convinced than ever, and its very existence are bound up with the age-old hope to return to Palestine and the achievement of statehood. The unexampled extinction of one-third of our people and the indifference of the nations of the world leave no doubt that we cannot rely upon others.

“I hope your convention which is being held at a fateful hour, the eve of the first peace-time World Zionist Congress and at a time when the President of the United States and its government as well as public opinion in your country has voiced the desire to help our cause, will exert influence in the right direction by advancing the National Home and Israel’s rehabilitation therein. I am confident of the fruitful results of your deliberations.”
