British Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin and Dr. Abba Hillel Silver, leader of the Zionist movement in the United States, conferred for one hour yesterday on the Palestine issue, it was learned in diplomatic circles here today.
The conference took place at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York where Bevin is attending the conference of “Big Four” Foreign Ministers. Lord Inverchapel, British Ambassador to the United States, was the only other person present at the meeting.
