Canadian Jewish Congress Sends 1,000,000 Pounds of Kosher Meat to Jews in Europe

The Canadian Jewish Congress today announced that it is sending a shipment of 1,000,000 pounds of Canadian meat to Jewish war victims in Europe. The meat is being canned in Winnipeg according to Jewish dietary laws.

Delivery of the meat is now beginning and will continue through November, the announcement said. The first shipment is going to Germany, Austria, Hungary and Italy. Other shipments will be sent to France, Greece, Poland, Rumania and Yugoslavia. The shipment was arranged through the Meat Board of the Department of Agriculture and is part of the $2,000,000 relief project of the Canadian Jewish Congress which is being undertaken by the United Jewish Relief Agencies of Canada in close conjunction with the J.D.C.
