A Foreign Office spokesman told questioners today that no decision has been taken concerning the Exodus refugees and that no instructions have been sent to British officials at Port de Bouc.

The utmost secrecy veils the government’s future actions. All that officials ##ll admit is that they have received a request from the British consul-general in ##arseille. What their reply will be, or in whose hands the decision rests has not been disclosed, although it is generally believed that the Cabinet will have to settle the issue. A spokesman said a decision might be delayed, as the government is aware of the seriousness of the situation.
